hardening processes to understand and apply these methods, obtained after

Conversion
and crystal structures of iron, Fe-C equilibrium diagram, the heating and
cooling. Perlit, bainite,
martensite formation, residual austenite, TTT
diagram. Hardening heat treatment, atmosphere and speed of heating, hardening
temperature, hold time and quenching environment. Hardenability,
the factors affecting hardenability, Jominy test. Annealing and variations (normalization,
re-crystallization, Stress relief, grain reduction, smoothing, spheroidizing annealing) Surface hardening processes |
