Objective of the Course

Providing the ability needed for machine design, forming important machine elements constitute the machines, teaching the strength of machine elements and their functions. One project related to these subjects is given through this course.

Course Contents

Stress analysis, deflection analysis, mechanical properties of materials, material selection. Design of shafts. Design of detachable joints, bolts, power screws, keys, splines, pins, rings. Design of permanent joints, riveted joints, welded joints. Design of springs.
