Objective of the Course

To teach basic knowledge of deformation mechanisms, dislocation theory, strengthening mechanisms, fatigue, creep, fracture and damping characteristics of materials.

Course Contents

Elastic deformation. Deformation mechanisms and deformation energy. Yielding criteria. Dislocation theory. Strengthening mechanismsms. Fatigue. Creep. Fracture. Anelasticity and damping characteristics of materials.
